Colonia Del Sacramento, Uruguay

When in Buenos Aires, a day trip to Colonia is an absolute must.  Taking the ferry across is an easy 75-minute journey.  Border control is done for both countries on the Argentinan side; therefore, once we disembarked, it was a quick 10-minute walk into the center of town.

The Barrio Hístorico is exceptionally charming, with cobblestone streets from the 17th century and adorable artisan shops.  With that said, this is a tiny town that can be enjoyed in half a day. Stay for a Uruguayan sunset and wine at Vinoteca De La Colonia. Gral. Flores 111, 70000 Col. del Sacramento, Departamento de Colonia, Uruguay
